A trader is still a trader lawful or not, you know he's not going to perform a raid against you or your faction in a transport so just tax him and let him be on his way. While we are on the near subject of such things...

I had a Pirate train with a Smuggler ID transporting contraband and two things happened:

A Admin told me i could NOT dock on lawfull bases with pirate anything, tag, id, ship. This creates a problem, smuggling from pirate to pirate base is very low profit and not worth the risk of run. With this combination i knew i was hostile to lawful factions.

Then i put a smuggler ID on a regular train:

With a lawful ship and a smuggler ID lawful factions would automatically classify me as a pirate and treat me like one, including shooting me without having any cargo. Even go as far as to question my ability to land on a lawful base with a smuggler ID, this part i take as ignorance. Being a smuggler i should be able to smuggle into a lawful base, it is after all the pure definition of the word smuggler.

So what is one to do when the two most profitable, fastest and most fun runs in the system are smuggling from pirate base to lawfull base...

I have no idea how many times this needs to be said before people get it, but smuggling and docking on lawful bases should only be done by one faction. That faction is the Junkers.

In the way of freelancer, every other faction that smuggles, smuggles to the junker bases. The junkers being the only faction able to dock on lawful and unlawful planets/stations are tasked with the transportation of these drugs/things into the lawful Sirius community.

Let's go over that again. Pirate faction smuggles to the system it's to be distributed in and sells contraband to the Junkers. Junkers smuggle onto planets and stations to get the contraband into circulation. You'll find you'll get some good profit smuggling to Junker stations if you work hard enough.



And another thing whilst I'm here. I'm fed up of seeing smugglers using trade lanes. Do it the proper way and free fly it. Use jumpholes instead of jumpgates. You'd be suprised how much quicker it is when you're not smuggling to lawful bases.
