My map of discovery, so I know what systems to avoid and which routes not to take. (Or the opposite as a bounty-hunter, police officer or criminal).
The different colors represent the percentage of bases of lawful factions. Green means there are more lawful bases inside the system than unlawful. Red is the opposite and gray means it's balanced. Black/white means there are no bases inside the space. Any corrections are welcome.
The map is being rendered on-the-fly from my discovery installation, it makes some random variations of the system positions so the system areas don't look like rectangles.
Every suggestions are welcome! Including some nice background pictures for the map, or some icons for system points.
TODO:
Figure out how to color factions. Make a faction color map. (this is though.. maybe need to work with numbers, or symbols! Are there any faction symbols I could use?)
Find symbols for systems, some nice star icons like on the original navmap ingame.
Find nice backgrounds which are similar to the sirius sector. Nebulas with the corresponding colors. Best would be if it can be generated by giving parameters (So I could include the algorithm inside my program).
Make everything vector based so you can save it as SVG. (This allows to zoom out/in as much as you wan't without loosing any detail).
Version 3:

UPDATEv3:
Made everything bright, you might be able to print this one out. (havn't looked at aspect ratio though)
Used alot of outlining to make alot of things better to read.
Version 2:
[attachmentid=4435]
UPDATEv2:
Different color intensity to reflect lawful/unlawful power.
