I think the name is necessary, only at times. As a member of the Liberty Navy, I'd like to see a name. However, other factions or freelancers shouldn't have to follow that.

Just as an fyi.. Beau is not a member of the [LN], not saying that's what you were trying to imply, but it's the way you made it sound.

I prefer adding a name while flying a ship not named after a person. However, one of the issues is that people assume that because you wrote it out, they now know your name. As in, if [LN]-LNS-Anchorage goes "Baker: Yadda yadda.", people then go "Hey Baker, how are you doing?". That's a bit awkward. It's not like you're saying the word "Baker" out loud, or something.

This is how the majority of Disco has roleplayed caps for literally years. You'll always run into morons who metagame your name, but it's a small price to pay for knowing who is actually doing the speaking onboard the ship.
