I play Rome 2 for a few days now and I must say I am not disappointed, except for lag and the time it takes for the CPUs to make the turns, which I guess is a problem of optimization
And the fact that in sieges, the attacking AI is most often rushing straight for the control zones ignoring the defenses on the way even though they sit right between them and the destination.
I would have expected the interface to be more Rome and less Shogun 2, if you know what I mean...
Other than these... I like it. The units are awesome, the graphics are good.
The fact that you can combine land and naval battles is extraordinary. Diplomacy is also ok.
What I hate is that it's kinda commercial, and money milking. They are planning to release new factions as DLCs, contrary with releasing them all at once like Rome Total War ( original ). But I can't really complain over the developer's money milking fantasies, I didn't buy the game... I... got it as a present. So yes.
I wouldn't pay for it. But if it magically appears on my PC, then it's certainly a game I will spend hours on. But not something I would throw money for
