are fighters with spyglass/battleship scanners OORP?

It has been my intention for a while to limit the Spyglass Scanner to Spyglass-platform starships (Arbiter, Resheph, and anything SRPed) and to limit Battleship Scanners to battleship-class starships only. I do not yet have the final OK to implement this, but I am continuing to push for it.

So a lot of players wasted hundreds of millions/billions on (then useless) equipment and you destroy the single new money sink that successfully managed to regulate the banks of wealthy players (if you get it your way). Wow.

Cool way to wreck something for doubtful reasons (why would only a Battleship be able to do it? It is some vague, arbitrary, totally random setting - nothing else) that worked to drain these heaps of money that are a problem for the game.

I agree that the 25k are a powerful. And can be negative for gameplay. So a change is okay:

That's why I suggested to turn today's BS-Scanners into a "widely available, but still 250 million" version that sees 20k. => money sink. Not OP any more.

Then you can have you special Spyglass and BS-scanner as exclusive BS-toys and a new class, without making all those players who invested look like idiots who suddenly can dump their very expensive toys.
