Buying laptop. Help needed

Hey guys, I'm getting a new laptop.

I currently have a HP Pavilion dv6 that did everything I wanted it to. It's dying now and it's on pretty much on life support as It's attatched to a monitor, external keyboard and etc etc.

I'm getting a new one! My budget I would like to cap at £800 but the less, the better.

I've got a Pavilion dv7 and it's top tier laptop for doing whatever I ask it to. I dunno how much mine cost because I got it through a rental company, but it shouldn't be more than $1,000

I fix countless Pavilion Dv6 & 7s at work all the time, and am also a previous Pavilion Dv series owner. My advice, go with a desktop if you want to do gaming <.< If youre willing to skin the money into an expensive laptop that may will cost just as much to fix, why not get a sure-thing custom build desktop? Food for thought
