Pirate ID rephacks everything upon undocking with it and it cannot be reversed (even if you pay bribe). You can always change the ID and pay tens of millions to regain the rep around - but then, it is cheaper and faster to just make a new character.
This is why there was a rather huge disagreement between players who wanted to force Pirate IFF onto Pirate ID, because Pirate ID having Freelancer IFF is the only thing that makes Pirate ID useful (aside of no ZOI - but then, Outcasts offer almost the same range and better stuff). There is no tech-cell they have access to, moreover, there is 90% nerf on certain ships that are said to be "generic".
