Quote:After this, life will be all spams of orgasmic blue and free pirate moneyz and submissive RPs to meh.
Feeling a little dramatic today, do we?
A Disco experience necessary for every player is: make a pirate. Play it for 10 hours. Look at how many blues and how much free money you made, how much submissive rp you got... and how utterly bad and frustrating pirating in Disco is. It will change the way you think and feel about being pirated.
Every time I log on my pirate around liberty I get 1 or 2 successful hits. And I pirate alone. In a Sabre.
To make credits, I've been doing the same Erie-Honshu trade run in my 5k for a year, flying in windowed mode on the side never bothering to check the player list, getting so much cash I dunno what to spend it on. And in a year I've been pirated like 3 or 4 times, 1 or 2 of them successful.
No offense, but if you can't land a robbery, its not the bases that are the problem.
It's that you can't stand the fact that you know right now there are 3 guys that you cant pirate because they're mining near a base. And instead of looking for guys that you CAN pirate, or waiting until those 3 guys finish mining and start hauling so you can ambush them on the way, you focus all your attention on wanting those 3 guys who are in safe spots right now grinding your teeth.
I really hate to piss in your cereal with such troublesome questions, but what exactly do you guys who signed the petition think is going to happen once the bases are destroyed or moved?
Are the people you wish to pirate going to sit there in the same field, without the base, willingly letting themselves get pirated now?
Or are they going to do the next best thing to protect themselves from piracy, such as just check the player list to maneuver themselves through 5 of the 50 equally profitable no-brainer no-effort trade runs which require no teamwork, or even simpler, just play something else cause been there done that in 2007?
Before there were POBs in ore fields, pirates complained about battleships guarding ore fields. And when there were no battleships, they complained about overzealous ganking lawfuls. And when there were no lawfuls, they complained about traders quickdocking. And when they weren't quickdocking, they complained about them silently running away. And when they didn't run away or quickdock, they complained about them hugging Battleship Essex.
As a pirate, you're not going to make even nearly as much money as the guys you're robbing.
You'll also never have domination of the space they choose to mine or trade in.
Piracy isn't about credits or owning space or winning fights against lawfuls, it's about thrills, stealth, speed, and wit.
And there will be times when not every pirate will find a trader or miner who will give him everything he wished for.
Maybe a few other people need to change the way they think.
