It's not "stopping people" from anything, stop overexaggerating. It's just harder, but certainly not impossible. The energy usage seems big because of it having whooping 6k damage per second, more than anything else. It makes shooting snubs less efficient, and shooting caps more consistent since -something- is bound to hit. The closest thing is Bretonia Gunboat Turret at 3.9k, which means the difference is 2.1k. And you wonder why they drain the core fast?
