The glorious hull of LNS-Maine was standing in the drydocks of Norfolk. Apparently, the engineer who developed the ship had a good imagination, as for some unknown reason it looked like a cigarette. The gray metal of the plating was painted with blue and red stripes, as well, as with the emblem of the Epsilon wing. However, inside the ship differed even more strongly. The hangar for the fighters was expanded, and the cabins of the crew were distinguished by a simple and laconic, but at the same time luxurious style. Probably, because of this care, every member of the crew knew the captain of the ship in person. Karen really cared about ordinary soldiers and it easily explained her popularity for them. However, de-facto, but she wasn't the commanding officer of this ship herself. Near with her on a captain's bridge was always standing Adrian Williams, the experienced soldier, who got stuck in fighters wing, until he was found by Karen. Back to old days, this couple was used to have a lot of quarrels with each other about anything, like Karen could understand, that "Maine" will not fly without Adrian, and he could understand, that without Karen's intervention he would continue training recruits of Secondary Fleet in his fighter. Anyway, somehow, but they managed to move on.

And now Williams found himself, standing on captain's bridge and looking at Norfolk Shipyard with... Fear and a kind of jealousy? Feelings new for him. He massaged his forehead with his hand and took out a flask of whiskey, taking a good sip. Amber liquid and the feeling of heat inside of him helped him to lean back in the captain's chair and breathe a sigh of relief.

"Navigation officer, set Courtez, as the destination." - he gave order with a hoarse voice. After a couple of moments, he took out his communication device. "This is captain Williams of LNS-Maine. Vice-admiral, are you online?"

A couple of interferences and nothing more. However, suddenly communication device has returned to live:
"Adrian, may we live without these formalities? I know, that you wanted me to approach this neutral ship abord of Maine, but... You know... Admiral, like any soldier in general, is a hotheaded and may do a lot of... You've got me, haven't you?" - It was Karen. Adrian smiled slightly and answered:
"Allright, Kare, we are good. And I've got you. Anyway, how is preparation for the meeting?"
"Nothing special, being honest. Now I'm just walking around of New Oregon. An usual GB class. I already miss Maine."
"Allright then! Soon you will return and things will be usual as always. Anyway, I will not interrupt you from preparations and stuff. See you soon!" - He said and waited for a moment to add: "Just try to stay safe out there..."

He didn't wait for her answer and shut down a communication device. Maine was flying right to California jump gate on her usual speed. Adrian looked at his reflection in the mirror. He is relatively young and it's hard to say, that he was ever left without attention from women around. So why did he fall in love with Karen, who didn't seem to care about him in this term at all? No, she cared about every single soul aboard of the Maine, but, as it usually happens, he wanted to get more. And now, when Karen was somewhere far from this captain's bridge, Adrian realized, that it was fine for him. Indeed, only we can lose something, we start to appreciate it enough.

The mighty ship his appeared in Cortez a couple of minutes later. Adrian took out a communication device and sai:
"This is the commanding officer of LNS-Maine Adrian Williams to the captain of LNS-New Oregon. We came here by our own initiative, according to the state of Cortez system. It's dangeroud to pass through only with a couple of gunboats and snubs, so we will secure your safety here. We are well aware, that we aren't allowed to enter Coronado space, therefore we will stay near with jumphole to notify you about incoming enemy forces and delay them, before they will jump to your position. Williams is out."
