over 50? How is your heart? A quick poll on a very relevant subject.

Hey all.

Just a quick poll that pretty much concerns everyone.

I don't know why I made it a poll, maybe just to be different.

I turned 50 a year ago and failed to do something that I should have done at that time, which is, I should have gone and had a full physical.

Possibly if I had of done them back then, things might not have been quite as serious as they are now.

I am currently recovering from a triple heart bypass.

Today (as of the day I write this) is the 9th day since the procedure and I have been back home for two days.

Doing *anything* at all is tiring, even sitting at the keyboard typing is making me tired. Taking a shower is going to be a major effort.

I am on pain killers, not major stuff, plain old Paracetemol (sp?) 24/7 with some backup from a heavy hitter 3 times a day if I need it.

I am basically not allowed to do anything for next 6 weeks, until my breastbone has had time heal a bit.

I never realized that doing things with your arms depended so much on that piece of bone in the middle of your chest.

I don't have pictures of my chest, but I have a couple of my leg where they have taken the grafts needed for the procedure. The scar is 50 cm long ( 18 inches) and runs from just above my ankle, ending just above my knee.

If you are 50 or over, whatever your gender and you haven't had a full physical yet, go and get one, it may be one one of the most important things you do in your life.
