Jacob Crawford, Administrator of Colony Ship Vagabond

Somewhere in the Taus...

Awaiting reply from Freeport 10

Ships Log: January 5th, 827 A.S.

Nothing lasts forever it seems. We only fled our home a week ago and already there is dissension among us on where we should go next and what we should do. Some of the refugees want to try and establish a base as a new home while others wish to make planet fall somewhere on an unestablished world. Yet others simply want to disembark on the nearest Zoner Station and go their merry ways. Ultimately, this ship is mine and I'll go where I want, but we are all free people and I won't hold anyone here if they aren't all in. I guess I can't blame anyone for a lack of spirit after what we've all been through.

Fortunately, Mr. Taylor is the adventuring sort and is still willing to follow the solar wind to wherever it blows us. Good man. He returned yesterday from his forward jaunt with two options out of Dublin, through Leeds or Aquitaine. As loath as I was to see another Bretonian battleship again, Taylor and I both agreed that cutting a deal with the Enclave for passage was just too risky a trick. Potentially making an enemy of quite literally everyone else just isn't an option. So we pressed forward away from Dublin through the Leeds jumphole. At least there weren't any infernal asteroid fields to navigate there. This ship may be a a beautiful tough old cow but it dwarfs the capitol vessels of all the other houses.

We traversed the Leeds system without incident, though staring at the smoldering ruins of the Planet as we flew by was quite a somber sight. I have no love at all for the Bretonians, but what happened to Leeds was a crying ass shame. We at least were permitted to flee with our ships and our lives. I broke from my rumination as the helm reported we were approaching the jump gate to the Tau systems. Which of course, is where our current predicament began. Once we were completely free from the Bretonians zone of influence, the arguments about our goals began to break out. We Zoners are a fiercely independent lot and once we put our minds to an idea, it's difficult to dissuade us from it. In the end, I decided to send a message to Freeport 10 inquiring as to whether they have the capability to accommodate some of the passengers who wish to leave. I'd hate to show up unannounced with such a large ship and dump several hundred people in their laps if they aren't ready for them.

I hope it goes well. I could use some good news.
