He has the option to pick the right time to shoot the Base when is less advantageous to the Defenders (recent POB losses in Kusari were done when the Server population were low). The repairing of Bases (higher Core ones) use a lot of RMs which need to be replenished (this takes up a lot of storage on a Base). And if you kill someone sieging a Base, he just waits an hour and he is back in to the fray.
And in the time it has taken me to write this, the Base is down to 84.35%, that is another 24 million hps gone or 8 hours worth of supplies to repair it.
Thankyou St-Denis.
Trying to defend Goldgeist is just a delay. In my case, I have just got home, am working long hours, and cannot spend enough time to supply it with top-ups let alone spend the time with a rallying cry on the forums. Wrong time zone for me too. Noted there were 5-6 ships attacking it but no defence at all. No doubt the siegers will call it a victory, I would call it a very hollow one.
I do agree with Sniper that the RP around a siege is usually pathetic. This is a roleplay server and one would have thought, nay expected, a robust RP scenario/interplay, not the glib nonsense that "did enough but no more" that has been demonstrated to date. Nor a one-post general statement that attacks 5 POB's in the one post. There is no RP value in that, and I find that generally RP is far from their minds.
Sorry Darkseid667. I was hoping your legacy, your input and RP on DiscoGC would have had a better ending. It was just 4% off full health today, and a large number of people supplied it with resources etc. And a big thankyou to you all in what is , IMO, an unnecessary and damaging action. Live and let live.
I find it ironic that the common argument for Goldgeists destruction is it aids Bretonia's economy. Oddly, most Gold ore goes out to Honshu, Omi Gamma, (Allies of the Enclave) and little to Bretonia. Most people involved in the mining are small operators, 1 ship miners, who invariably are on the opposite side of the populated times. Goldgeist was a truly beneficial asset to the game.
