PVP is the (one of) Consequences of RP, if you really need that saying to explained in a way that doesn't chafe. It just happens to be one of the more common consequences, out of the many possibilities.

Agreed, but when you have a mindset of RP as the cost of getting to PvP, you get the current situation. People aren't objecting to PvP or even to a base being destroyed, they are objecting to people that see RP as an impediment to "being able to blow S%$# up!".

People like doing X. People then proceed to do RP that would lead to doing X. Everyone is suddenly surprised.

Missed the fact that this is Not an action server that requires RP, but, rather an RP server that allows action?

As I said in another place, RP should be more than a MeLance that amounts to, "We Blow S%$# Up Because... Reasons!".
