I sieged both bases and you can see in this thread that I was against sieging.

- I was leading the Enclave defense of the Base. We repelled siegers over and over maybe 15 times. There was 0 chance of the Base being in any sort of danger.
And I understand the owner is a beginner and made a big mistake of instead of thanking me and others and sticking with it, started wanting to be friends with the same siegers, apparently not knowing we were defending the Base from them over and over, ugh. And so my first siege ever started.
Tur Ladir, same thing - the defenders never even tried to contact the sieging faction to ask for a deal in rp (IE). Instead they accepted Aux defense, wiped the attackers numerous times (with help of us nomads - we just saw red so we kill. It happened to be corsairs and order) and only when they realised that will fail started a flurry of oorp behavior in the system, with only a single RP response to a corsair that's not even affiliated with the sieging unofficial faction...
FYI, I play AI a lot and I didn't like the base personally so both defended and sieged it. And was constantly trying to organise nomad and The Core wiping parties because they just should do that no matter if they like a Base or not.
I just think that if you have a Base on top of a Base or directly at the exit of a planet, you can't keep it as your personal storage not dockable to the faction as default - you are now part of the Base more or less. The OC Base in O.Tau does it right - no WP so doesn't disrupt PvP, and buys Sci data and pilots at great prices - helping indies of the whole faction. I doubt it will ever go down and me and many others will defend it 24/7. I wanted to suggest A.I. Themselves siege the Kappa Base actually before.
And yes if FP11 POB gets sieged, I will be first in line to attack it for the same reasons - disrupting PvP, not letting indies dock while being part of an existing Base.
