well anyway, i think the "reason" was the core helped the bretonians with logisyic and even manpower, and was some kind of gift, and also a base for the core to have a presence on omega 49 to continue to assist bretonia, but since bretonia left there is no other resons to continue there, because there are more important, in my view, systems whose presence needs to be strengthened, like omega 55, inrp there is a good planet with value resources that the core has to defend from corsairs and coallition!
