8 posts deep in this thread which was made in the spirit of what I assume comes down to 'lets celebrate the good in the community' and we've already slandered the poster, the idea, the proposed execution and the dev team, neat.

What's sad is that after reading the first post, I scrolled quickly to see how long it took to derail. It didn't take long.

That being said, all this hints at what's part of the problem here: People are so obsessed with promoting themselves and their friends that everything else, including improving the mod and community, becomes secondary.
