This is "Variant", representing the Research and Development branch of the Technocracy. While I specialize on the nature of observing spatial anomalies and the means to utilize them to better understand how the universe works, I have a lot of workload to do in Valravn, leaving me with little to no time to do things aboard my research vessel, the Pentation.

There are a lot of things our division is currently working on, but I'll focus on what I have described before. With the realignment of jumphole networks from the Blackout two years ago, most of the Baxter anomalies we were studying appear to have disappeared, which is a major setback to our research. However, I have been informed of something called Earhart, though I have never been there. Our current goals have therefore recently shifted to understanding the nature of the system, given its impossibility of tracing its precise location within or outside the Sirius Sector.

What we are lacking, though, are drones that can provide utility. Particularly those with dark matter sensitive scanners, mining arrays, and reinforced armor, since the risks are too great without proper escort. By allowing us to better concentrate on Earhart, we would be able to gather relevant data, particularly the alien structure in the middle and the exotic resources hidden within, which will aid us greatly in understanding such anomalies that are confounding our minds and to help provide additional data that may allow us to more fully grasp the nature of the universe.
