Honorable Corsair Elders

[+]damages
  • Critical scorching to outer hull plating, requiring an emergency re-coating of the left dorsal section of one destroyer. It wasn’t quite a "bonfire," but it certainly left a mark.
  • Long-range sensor array severely compromised, rendering navigation a tad more guesswork than it should be. A complete recalibration was required.
  • Main coolant circulation lines destabilized, forcing a rushed rerouting of systems, nothing like a bit of last-minute improvisation to keep things interesting.
  • Aft thrusters took a direct hit, leaving a gunboat temporarily unfit for a Sunday cruise, with repairs required to restore maneuverability.
  • Gravitic field generators on another gunboat damaged, causing a brief but alarming instability in shields—nothing too dramatic, but it certainly made the crew’s tea taste a little more exciting.
  • Fuel injection manifold breached, nearly resulting in a catastrophic failure. Luckily, it was caught just in time, but it did require a rather extensive overhaul.
  • Primary solar panel arrays knocked out of alignment, reducing energy efficiency by 18%, not a disaster, but it certainly put a dent in our plans for a quiet evening.
  • Communication relay node 7 sustained minor damage, temporarily interfering with long-range transmissions: nothing a bit of elbow grease couldn’t sort, but still an inconvenience.
What does this list mean to you?

You might look at it and think, "Oh dear, Torshavn must have been attacked by a deranged group of Gallic Royalists, or perhaps some other band of miscreants." But no, that’s not the case.
For us, this list, just a fraction of the total damages, means a significant financial setback, an absolute mess to clean up, and a growing list of worries about the future that we now have to contend with.

Despite the chaos caused, Torshavn Station remains fully intact and operational, which speaks more to the resilience of the Gaians than to any mercy from the 'Black Sails.' The insult doesn’t end there. After their humiliating retreat, the Black Sails had the audacity to complain about a single Gaian ship engaging Deterrence forces shortly after. Do they not realise that playing dangerous games often leads to dangerous consequences? That engagement was a direct result of Black Sails actions, occurring just moments after their failed siege!

Honourable Elders, I trust you understand the seriousness of this matter. The Gaians and the Corsair Brotherhood have long enjoyed a workable relationship. Yet the Black Sails seem intent on risking all of that with their reckless, unsanctioned actions and inflammatory rhetoric.

We did not forget the Gaian ships left rusting on Planet Crete due to your technicians' failure to maintain the necessary software updates. I would suggest you rein in these raiders and keep them well away from our operations. If you do so, I will see what can be done about the ships in question, getting them operational again would be a testament to sustainability and treating natural resources with respect.

I urge you to address this promptly. Should you require further documentation, I am happy to provide detailed logs of the engagement. The Gaians remain committed to our historical ties, but such actions threaten to undo the little trust we’ve built over the years."
