' Wrote:Ok, another topic about BH restrictions. So I'm going to rant a bit here.

You see, when I first joined Disco server, I was doing various things to explore systems around.
So first I got a patriot, then defender, then falcon etc etc.
I was slowly upgrading myself.
At one point I wanted to have a cool VHF to fly and maybe PVP some.
So, you know what I did? I went to Deshima station in Shikoku with my Falcon, and started doing missions.
I earned fast, but not only because they were paying for missions only, but because they were paying out for picked up pilots as well.
I got some 5k per Lane Hacker, 3k per Rogue etc etc.
At one point I even started killing all pirates around, just to sell them on Deshima.
Was I ooRP with my BHG ID to do that? Since I had no mission against them..
No, I wasn't.

And please stop that "YOU CAN ONLY SHOOT ME IF I HAVE A BOUNTY ON MY HEAD" crap.
Sure, I hate BHG pvp whores as well, but there are good BHG role players that DO attack unbounties players.
AND I FULLY SUPPORT THEM.

I have a few reasons for that, so let me state them.

1. You get a pirate you can RP selling him to a nearest BH station and get some money for it.
2. Pirates attack you ON SIGHT literally, at least most of them.
3. They are mostly criminals offered a chance for a clean record and career.
Or some punks that needed a quick-cash job and joined the guild.
That's why it's a guild. And you can't expect some militaristic manners from them.
They are same as pirates, just lawfuls.
Here :

So, please, do not attack Bounty Hunters for killing you if you do not have a bounty.
Do not think that they are forbidden to attack you, because they are not.
They can attack you on sight and feel good about it, just for the sake of killing.
I RP my BH Hammerhead like that. I'm an ex criminal. And even though I mostly get payed for what I do, I will sometimes engage a pirate even if he doesn't have a bounty on him.
Because I hate him, because he is something I was before I joined the guild.

To summarize. BHG can attack you if you do not have a bounty on your head.
If you are a pirate that is.
If you are a junker, they probably can't, unless you did something wrong.

I think the stricter approach to RPing a BHG (bounty only) came about in response to the excessive and overpowered hunting of criminals using the BHG capship line. This was to an extent that made the game a pain for many players.

In principle I agree with you - I can agree with you because we now have the lawful factions establishing a reasonable and restricted open contract system that balances the odds a little more and tries to establish a more even playing field, and that pays attention to things like jurisdiction, etc.

If someone wants to play a BHG another way, then more power to him or her. People may disagree with you, but that is what the forums are for. If you approached the game with that philosophy while in a gunship, I'm sure people would react otherwise. And to be honest, the manner in which you do it is pretty much what I prefer. A reasonable sized ship that gives someone a fighting chance.

Now if only the pirates weren't always in bloody Corsair gunboats......
