' Wrote:My idea came about as a misunderstanding about the permanence of FED. Thought it was something you were doing on a temporary basis. Since it may be intended to be more permanent, I'm wrong.
I'm going to summarize how we should relate:
1) The BAF being under the MOD means you guys try to stay more political, rather than go to the guns. I think you tended that way anyway.
2) FED will not simply be KOS to BAF, but we will keep an eye on you while in Bret space, and will stop you from interfering in trading. Analogy is how cops treat known gang members, when they aren't actually committing crimes.
I will ask a favour thought. I'd like you to do one post in your Bret Politics thread to help this along. I'll PM you.
You agree to 1 and 2?
Well, last first - I'll be happy to post anywhere you want once we get this ironed out. Always happy to help.
This all just seems a bit too fast and abrupt following the political RP from the other thread that Unselie participated in. Why does Parliament have to reassert authority for this to happen? The Royalists are in charge and the populists (the main opposition/minority party) have been outlawed; the MOD could simply be an extension of the Crown under the guise of Parliamentary control. That would suit both our RP quite well, unless you're feeling the need to "go democratic."
The other option is for Carina to appoint you Grand Admiral, and for everything to just proceed as you want it under a strong monarchy. That allows everything we've done (not just Feds, but navy, etc.) to stay intact. Anything you dictate will be assumed to have come from Carina or be approved by her.
I still don't see the need for a strong Parliament just yet, thereby removing one of our main reasons for existence.
As to your two points:
1. I'd like to just keep doing what we're doing; political RP and trade interdiction. We plan to have an active military wing, but not really for direct engagement with government forces (though that might have changed over time with QCO since it was Carina's personal force).
2. I think this works, because that's largely what BAF players have been doing already - to their credit.
