While the idea is very well thought out and a relatively good idea, I don't see any realistic backing for it.

Marines are a ground force. While you state the Navy's job is to patrol Liberty, that's utterly false. The Navy's job is to attack and defend dynamically. In a case of a war, it is the Navy's job, not the Marine's job, to attack. The Navy is the one that carries the marines and drops them.

At the present moment, there is little that can be done. Black Op missions would not be taken by marines, though you could establish a elite ground force that would do that. However, that would seem like something more that the LSF would cook up, and there's only one ID per fraction.

What I suggest is canning the Navy ID and Tag for a LSF ID and Tag. Changing the Marines into an elite task force type, such as the Seals, Rangers, or the SAS.

Ship wise, I would not like to see any caps at all, excluding the battleship, battlecruiser, and Assualt Carrier. This is becuase only those three ships are capable of carrying large squads in addition to their crew. The smaller caps you state would be support would not be needed becuase again, it is the Navy's job to have space combat.

Escort ship wise, fighters and bombers would work, except again, this is something the Navy would be doing, but for the sake of gameplay, I don't think it would a big deal.

In this case, I would like to see transports. Lots of them.

Plus, I don't like that fact you use codies, but then again, oh well.

So, in summary, the two problems I have is
A: Taking the Navy's job and delegating them to police
B: Liberty has no use for ground forces at the moment
