Well ... I've always been told that when you're a new guy (even one who may know a lot) ... its best to sit back, listen and watch first ... then suggest changes.

Example: At work (wherever that might be) your old boss had a way he/she liked things done. Maybe it worked well and everyone understood their place. Then you get a new boss. New boss has a few options:

Option 1: Change everything to the way HE/SHE is used to doing it when he/she was at their old job. Everyone is not totally confused and no longer understands their role.

Option 2: Wait ... listen and watch how his/her team works and tweak things as he/she notices areas that can be improved ... at the same time avoiding making sweeping changes that would disrupt everyone on the team.

Option 3: Not contribute in any fashion ... let everything run as it is. Even stuff that could be improved upon would go untouched.

I hope you'd choose Option 2. Option 1 is a micro-manager and cares nothing for the rest of the community. Option 3 can improve areas that need improving but could care less whether they improve or not and thus alienates the rest of the community. Option 2 provides input as needed while not causing anyone to go into shock.

have you ever worked in a state job(cause option 1 is like thier first and only option) now time to play devil's advocate.
why did boss get fired first off? prolly he wasn't doing it right, or wasn't properly motivating his crew to do it right. lol, i just had to throw things in there.

yea i'm new, but if you read my posts, i asked and gave oppinions, i never wanted change, i asked questions on why people think they way they think. i also gave what i thought of the situation. and used the past info to show/validate my form of reasoning.

so i'll never hold it against a peep if he's new, if i feel his oppinion or ay of thinking is flawed, i'll go to great depths to show him, why i feel my oppinion or way of thinking is better, otherwise if his is better, i'll have no problem going with his.

but that's just me
