Im quite new to the server and agree with this completely. When a pirate stops you and says "2 mill. you have 3 seconds to pay". Im inclined to just let them kill me as it only cost me 500k to fill my ship and will only make 2mill profit on the run anyway. Then I can just go about a different route and avoid them.

If said pirate was to ask for say 1 mill and be willing to come down to 500k, it would make for some great roleplay and the only reason a trader would not pay is if they were looking for a fight.

If the pirate were to ask for too little straight up though i think traders would just pay and be on thier merry way without any role play.

Tip For Pirates...
If you just want to make money. Ask for a low amount and all traders will pay.

If you want to make money and RP. Know your stats. Know how much profit a run makes and how much it cost to start the run in the first place and make your demands accoringly. The final amount you settle on really should not be much more than the cost of the cargo at the start of the run. Otherwise if someone is trying to make money as a trader its simply not worth it for them to pay you.

If you just want to blow up traders for fun then feel free to make those unreasonable demands, but you wont get paid.
