I can't speak for non-mission NPCs, but I took out a horde of BHG Hammerheads in Omicron Alpha solo in a Switchblade HF... never even needed to use my nanobots. Not only that, but it was easier and more fun than in 4.84 because they didn't have retarded amounts of armor this time. The only mission I had to abort was one where the enemy reinforcements were destroyers.

But again, that's mission NPCs. I'll have to hop over to Omicron Eta to see how non-mission NPCs are.

I've had a few bursts of severe lag, but they can be chalked up to beta instability rather than player count issues.
