Personally, I also think that researchers should be allowed the Zoner GB, with similar restrictions to the Kusari Explorer. Seems like the sort of ship that really fits the bill for a Zoner researcher. Small, good cargo-hold, well armoured for the rigors of Omicron space.

I think the corvo cruiser more appropriate in this case. Being listed as an 'exploration vessel'.
Have to agree with the OP. Researchers cargo restrictions mean that you char becomes nothing more than a high tech egghead smuggler. Mining would be good, mixed with increase in mining rate for organisms/artifacts.
I liked playing my researcher, but the novelty soon wore off when I relaised just how limited I was. The RP could only take this char so far.
As to cargo, I regularly carried water and food rations in my hold along with crew and scientists. I was unclear as to if this was legal but as I wasnt trading in these goods (ID says can only trade in cetain goods, says nothing about 'carrying')I assumed it was ok. Can someone clarify that?
