Surely there is a great difference between the zoner exploration cruiser and the zoner gunboat. Both should be allowed for researcher IDs. Also, if you want to go by the "carrying" vs "trading" distinction, you can currently "carry" whatever you want in your hold, but only buy and sell whatever cargo is allowed.
