I agree about that High tech smuggler, because of these restrictions...
And it seems researchers can't mine for science uses. If there is the Researcher id it should be more like in the real life. Right now its just so restricted so you can't normaly RP and you violate rules a lot because of restrictions.

You can actually mine, but you just cant sell anything you mine other than Artifacts and Alien Organisms. But then again, lets face it, those two are probably what you would be researching. If you were to mine any of the other resources (gold/silver etc) then sell them that would be a breach of researcher ID. Not sure how that rule stands when trading with other players instead of landing and selling though. Could be another exploitable loop hole.

Also, IMG produces an exploration ship that would no doubt be used for researching new sources of minerals. It stands to reason that such a ship SHOULD be allowed to carry and trade in all mine-able resources if you ask me. To simulate the ship returning ore samples etc to its research dept.

This really isn't something that needs to be taken super seriously because it's a game and most of us are just here to have fun. You should try smiling, you'll feel better about things (honest).
