YES freighters can be potetially awesome vessels of destruction, like the Corsair Correro or the Rogue Bactarian. Or hopelessly weak as the Bretonian Clydesdale and the X-wing...

Well, one of the "hopelessly" weak freighters you are comparing here is a Mk1 freighter. Not too surprising, is it?

Therefor i propose that all freighters get a buff.

The first issue i see is; huge shield but a bomber worth of shield batteries... often quite thick hull too but yet fighter/bombers have same amount of B/B.... Freighters should get some more, maybe an average of 20 more b/b (except repair ship ofcourse).

A freighter as of now is a VHF with a heavy cargopod when it comes to stats and such....

I thought that was one of the points about Freighters? Massive firepower, large cargo hold, and (relatively) low maneuverability/agility? Some Light Freighters would be fun though.

Freighters will get a speed buff come 4.86. That's enough of a perk to warrant their existance, especially in piracy. Once in cruise they'll be able to run circles around anything, and they'll be able to catch up to transports as well.

Had no idea that Freighters were getting the speed buff in 4.86 too... Niiiiice. That'll more than make up for a lot of their shortcomings.
