Also a factor to remember, it isn't just attention that the scantily clad women garner. The majority of us are all guys here. No doubt a good few like the idea of having a sexy captain etc. Not many may like having a 46 year old hairy fat guy with a balding head. (Or they might...O.o)

In the end it's personal preference.
I think the current state of things is actually very good. Some leeway is allowed and things are generally laid back but not full frontal nudity is shown, so it's all kept to a 12 rating or so.
Anyway, your imagination is the greatest tool that the human mind has, including for those such things;)
