Great, thanks for such a detailed response. I'm still a lowly Shoi in the KNF (not Guard) so I only fly a Chimaera VHF. That pretty much clears it up, and fits with what my CO in the KNF was just telling me. The Taus are a bit confusing to me since 29, 23 and 31 are all in the KNF's direct ZOI, and we're not supposed to be stopping contraband in the core systems once they're passed the border, also the fact that we have a Battleship all the way out in 31, I'd sort of assumed it was our responsibility to keep those systems generally under control of the Empire, though I'm usually hanging around the border between Tau 29 and Kyushu anyway, sounds like that's what I should do.

But... of course the Taus are under the protection of Kusari! Just ask the Emperor!;)
