it is all about skills, and practice. i am not so good bomber pilot, but some time ago ,when was my lucky and good day, i was able to stay alone against whole outcast fleet firing on me long enough until help arrived. (and it was more as 3 fighters and some bobmers on me+cap ships shooting from distance)
what i will say with this is, that praet is good as it is. and having more agile bomber? noone is restricting you the civilian bomber... more agile, but with lower armour and powerplant... it is choice? is...
and zeltak, i am corsair... not all have the same opinion...
(sure, i can imagine it with forward firing turret as rheinland bomber, to give harder punch.as it is in rp supposed to be) but i can live with praet as it is now.

I never said all Corsairs share the same opinion as Cosmos, please quote me if I did.

And your post seems to come in an agreement with my opinions on the matter, that it's more about the individual skill rather than a vessel flaw which needs to be adressed.
