Should battleships have CDs?

So, should battleships have CDs to force people to RP moar, or will it be too imba?

First , answer that question. Only after doing that , can we decide if they need or don't need a CD.

Alright, then lets answer that question of the OP.
But first a counterquestion: How does having a CD on a Battleship to stop those nasty traders 'force' them to more RP?
If the trader doesnt want to talk to you, he also wont do much efforts doing so after you stopped him.
He will eventually yell at the Battleship's Captain and will eventually grow some anger against those Battleship Captains which lead to one more biased person on the server.

We want more biased players?

The CD was removed from Battleships to prevent that those are used to 'gank' players in lighter ships like Fighters and Bombers, especially to blow up trader ships with them. There are for sure many of those Captains dont doing that, but there have also been many more doing it.

A Battleship as it is, isnt intented to be used for intercepting smugglers and traders at all.
It was over several Mod-versions to now designed to fight their counterparts of the same class and below to Cruisers, maybe Gunships.

And even if I -sound- biased now myself, if you want to use a Battleship for right that, intercepting traders, you just did it wrong from the start...

Just think about how you would react if you pass by that ship (which is ooRP in itself from the smugglers/traders side) and get stopped, informed about the law and then blown up.

It may as it is now not please all, but it helps to ensure the smooth play on the server as a whole.

And dont get me wrong please, I also owned Battleships in .84 and .85.
And the old saying of "get yourself an escort" may be not right at many other points, but here it is.

So I will give you a hint, my dear OP: Get yourself Skype if you havent it already, contact the GRN players ingame to get their's and make yourself friends within them. Many of them fly Fighters and Bombers, able to intercept the ships you cant.

On a side note to that all:
- There are just 2 Bomber pilots needed to shot the heck out of your ship if you fly alone though space, regardless if its open space or if you are near a friendly base of yours, if those 2 pilots just bring enough patience.
- And if its correct that Bomber pilots can 'gank' a Battleship as they wish, is another topic.
