Battleships- a solution

Discovery offers players the oppurtunity to fly capital ships, something which the vanilla version of Freelancer did not support. However, taking the recent months' events into consideration, i wish to propose a very simple (yet kind of big) change for discovery.

What is the community's thoughts on making battleships faction only, allowing independant players to fly battlecruiser and anything smaller than that, thus allowing to upgrade battleships significantly with huge armour HP, and bigger shields, and more turret slots (about 4-8 more slots, depending on bs class [light, medium, heavy])

take into consideration, this:

1. It will help reduce the capital ship spam from "lolwutting" independants.
2. It will promote the idea for independants to join factions and rise in ranks by actively contributing to the factions and thus getting access to fly the faction's shared battleship after reaching a certain rank.
3. It will allow the development team to tweak battleships further. for example, giving them a bigger armour boost will prolong battleship vs battleship, or battleship vs any other ship class fights (one of the things which many people complained about how battleships still dont last long enough in fights)
4. making them faction only will allow the battleships to become much more unique, and give independant players to fill the other roles by flying different class ships- Fly a cruiser and act as a long range bombardlment platform, or fly a gunship to act as an anti fighter/anti bomber vessel to counter the enemy's bomber squads. in other words, allowing more diveristy in fleet battles, instead of the usual "4 bs vs 20 bombers, fight over" situation.
5. Players will have to take extra care not to screw up when flying their factional battleship, so that they do not "tarnish" the reputation of the faction.
