Problem with this is some pirates sit there and wait for you to say something. You wait for him to say something. When no one says anything and the trader starts moving away, all of a sudden "YOUMOVEYOUDAI!" and you're shields are gone.

THEN, it's engaijin time.

I have had many occassions when I disrupt the trade lane and before I can make a demand the trader opens fire. Generally I just roleplay it from there, sometimes all be it keeping it short as some of those transports pack a punch. It is disappointing but from the traders point of view I guess they know whats coming and choose to fight before the demand. Limits the opportunity for RP which is disappointing as one of my pirates aint interested in money just certain items of caego and he seems to be the one who gets shot at the most! So inconsiderate them traders be:nono:
