Sounds like a chipset problem to me as well. Also, check the system options for IRQ mismatches or conflicts. An old tech issue but it may happen.

ALSO, drivers may be conflicting with each other as well.

Not installing drivers doesn't give Windows the idea that you are not using the card, best is to disable the card from system tag as well as over bios. (Bios is the safest)
