In regards to piracy

Here's My attempted ruleset, as stolen in part or whole from other excellent ideas...

Pirates may attack a trader as they see fit before demanding cargo, but may not destroy the trader before a demand is made and/or before the trader has a chance to respond.

Non compliance, or non reply-ance can be assumed after the demand is repeated at least three times, or three separate threats/messages are applied, inlcuding the initial demand. "Halt/stop/please hold" does not apply here.

Players can only be pirated once per encounter. Being pirated succesfully (surrender of goods/credits/compliance) allows the player free extraction. Once they have left scanner range of the pirate, the encounter is considered over and complete. If they return later, after having left the range of the pirate, they can be pirated again.

In the case of a Roleplay Stop; i.e. Xenos demanding and destroying contraband, which is not officially piracy, the same extraction rule applies, unless the player's LIFE is demanded. In which case this is a general engagement, and these rules do not apply. It is prohibited to rob someone and then kill them. Pirates must choose one or the other. Unless returning fire.

Piracy is intended for Roleplay and not for Profit. Rule 0.0 applies here. Piracy is NOT a meal for the ego, but an intrinsic part of roleplay on the server. Be respectful, creative, and patient. Beligerence will result in much pain.
