There was a thread I made for this a few months back after a situation arose where someone was blatantly powerplaying against other people in-RP.. I can't seem to find it, probably due to it being in flood and thus deleted when that section was cleaned.
If it did exist, I'd be bumping it, because a lot of people these days seem to be forgetting that this community runs on mutual respect. Sure, you may not like another person, especially if they are doing something you don't like... But powerplaying in-RP is not an acceptable way to vent your anger. This server is meant to be fun for everyone who plays it, and the players need to make sure it stays that way by showing the other side the same respect you would want. Put yourself in their shoes, ask, "Would I like this to happen to me?" And then ask, "would he like this to happen to him?"
I'm not saying that everything in-RP you do has to be liked by everyone.. But there is a line that shouldn't be crossed.
This is not aimed at any one person or situation, but has come about from what I have seen, and what I've talked with others about, for the last few weeks.
There is a person behind that character you see, show them some courtesy.
I agree. Powerplaying is the worse thing for the gaming environment, also cause the guy on the loosing side might feel so hungry that he might seek revenge sooner or later... and sometimes these people do not retailate on the offender but against an offender's friend or somebody that belong to the same faction of the offender... so powerplayers are not harming only the occasional victim but (indirectly) also their own friends and faction mates. This is an additional reason why powerplaying must be avoided: it often leads to even more powerplaying from other parties and, if not stopped (or sanctioned), it would lead to a very bad gaming experience for everybody. This is exactely the reason why server rules and sanctions exists: to avoid that the behaviour of few will turn bad the gaming experience for everybody.
