Is RP/demand/pirate act possible if target refuses to stop?

If you're so good with roleplay, why couldn't you actually stop to roleplay with the Joker, instead of running when you heard "halt?"

Ohh...maybe because his character cares about living and has heard how this guy doesn't make demands, just tractors in escape pods and takes victim's fingers off one by one. That would certainly make me not want to stop. Or you know, characters, who supposedly have real feelings and emotions behind the ships.
