The character shouldn't know the origins of the other character if he hadn't met him before. Perhaps only the basic stuff. But you know the basics without any info commands.

Thinking of it this way... reading anyone's story on the forums, then meeting them in person is metagaming too when you put it the way you do..... just because you know some things about the person that your CHARACHTER does not doesnt make it metagaming... as long as you rp your charachter that he doesnt know makes it ok
