I don't know which Fighter pilots you have been facing that fly straight towards a Bomber ship without shields, but as far as I'm aware Bombers are extremely weak against Fighter crafts. So no, they can't kill everything.
3-Battle Razor Gunboats are also extremely strong against Bombers, granted you need a few of them so they can perform some tactics and the Gunboat in question needs to be rather agile, e.g. Liberty Rogue Gunboat.
An extremely good Fighter pilot could probably solo Four Bombers. But this really depends on how skilled the Bombers are as well.
In general though, if we assume we have the same level of skill on both sides and the numbers are equal (Fighters vs Bombers).
If the Fighters use proper tactics, they have a 90% chance to win.
