i liked missiles at the VERY beginning. on a startracker - one advanced stunpulse + 2 slingshot missiles. it was a good loadout for quick kills - and usually payed off.
now as a higher level, only ammoless missiles work for me. its not too much cause the ammo is expensive. but rather cause i prefer not to make resupply runs for ammo. missiles miss too much, too - if they were serverside and not clientside, they might actually be a real alternative to guns, cause their accuracy would not drop due to lag. but as it is now - they re quite bad.
( i don t like NPC shooting missiles though, cause they are treated like small rocks and spin me around )
PS.: if shieldbreaking missiles did not only uncharge an enemies shiled - but also prevented it from recharge for a decent amount of time, they d be useful. that is - if missiles provided other effects than only copying standard weapons, they d be an alternative. ( anti shield recharge, immobilize missiles that kill the others engine leaving him floating straight, energy drains that leave the enemy without weapon power for some time, etc etc. )
