I've docked at Cambridge Research Facility more times than I care to count (even a few of the freeports), but the only difficulty i've ever had was in DOCKING.. not undocking.

Sorry, I probably should have made myself clearer
What I meant was that when the problems occur, they are usually very severe. They usually happen in two different ways:
1) The ship materialises inside the station. This is fatal as the ship immediately explodes.
2) The ship materialise halfway outside the station. This is not fatal, but the ship is trapped. It bounces around inside the station for a long time, and if youre lucky it finally gets lose. If youre not lucky well, then youre really out of luck. Best thing is to simply log of, let the character be for a day or two, and then try again. But this is no guarantee for success
That was what I meant with severe when the ship gets caught inside a station, there is very little you can do to get it lose again
Ive also had problems docking with stations. This seems to affect all stations not just the small ones. But at least you can press esc and break the docking manoeuvre. Youre not caught in the same way as you are when inside the station.
Quote:Don't like the shield caps but I do like energy capacitors. Anyone who's flown a battleship with Orsiris weapons in Alaska/Unknowns/Delta knows how hard it is to kill a Nomad Battleship, let alone by yourself in a over-powered ship. I'd be for the Energy capacitors, but the shield ones would be a problem, I think

The problem is that, IMHO, the shield on most fighters are very much understrength.
Just to give an example: I sometimes use the Sigma-13 -> Berlin jumphole to bypass the Frankfurt system. When I exit the jumpgate, Im just around 3K from the nearest tradelane ring. And that is more than enough time for the half-a-dozen Red Hessians, who usually lurks there, to reduce my shield by half. And Im flying a Train with a 75.000 Gunboat Shield! Think of what would happen if I had only 1/10 of that shield as I would have if I flew a fighter.
As I said, a capital ship with such an upgrade would be a truly formidable opponent but I still fell that fighters of all classes could use a slight boost to their shield.
Quote:Eh. the cruise disruptors are only effective if they hit you from behind, i've discovered, or if they hit you dead-on. Not sure if this is a good idea or not. :)

I havent kept track of what direction I got hit by the missiles. Only thing I know is that a group of four to six Corsairs equipped with disruption missiles completely prevented me from going to cruise mode. Every time I tried to charge my cruise engine, there were multiple incoming missiles. And no matter how many countermeasures I dropped, I got disrupted anyway.
Now, I was flying a Gunboat, so this wasnt really dangerous (I eventually got feed up with this and blasted them). However, when flying smaller ships, this can be absolutely devastating. With disruption missiles working so effective, a small group of fighters can effectively keep you pinned in place while hammering away at you. And unless youre within relatively short distance of a base, a tradelane, or a gate youre dead.
Quote:Now this, i'm very much against. on a typical VIP/Alien Organisms run from Cambridge to Kurlie/FP9, i make roughly $15 Million per run. This is on 4,000 units. If you increase it to 10,000 units, I'll make, (by my estimate...) almost $40 million per run. That kind of spoils the game in terms of trading. Making a super transport would solve this, but increading the existing cargo hold, I don't think is a good idea.

I think these two have something in common. Like Kane, I feel that the scale of the Freelancer ships, especially the larger ones, is completely wrong.
No fighter should be able to kill a capital ship its simply too big.
Similarly, the Trains should be able to carry much more cargo theyre simply too small.
And I dont really think that it would make trading easier. I couldnt imagine trying to fly a capital ship on the Kurile Cambridge route. Yet, I have no problems flying a Large Train through all those asteroids (well, sometimes I do, but thats another discussion altogether).
Im simply making a few suggestions to make the universe a bit more realistic.
