Gunboat and Cruiser for Zoners?

well, Jinx likes her juggernaut in delta - and it serves a good purpose so far. (*hides*) -

i think a cap ship for zoners is mostly for show off to enforce their political neutrality and to protect their installations - but NOT by shooting at everything that moves like most pirates do.

i haven t had to shoot at any player so far - but usually the pure sight of the juggernaut is enough for most to become peaceful, thanks to the rediculous size of it.

when its about cap ships ... the question is.. why would zoners actually need one. ( and i think there is at least a gunboat in the making ) zoners have no enemies other than nomads; and they are the faction with the greatest number of battleships. (Zoner Juggernaut, Battlestar, Battlestar advanced) - ok they are sometimes IMG, too - but zoners played a good part in deploying those battlestars.

when you just WANT a gunboat. it appears that zoners have a very good relationship to rheinland. a lot of their designs are offered in rheinland. and Rheinland sells out lower end equipment for those that can afford it anyway. ( i think a gungoat would still be acceptable, cruiser and battleship certainly not )

I doubt that liberty, bretonia or kusari would sell gunboats to the zoners, corsairs might - but thats up to the player factions, i wouldn t really expect it. same with outcasts - zoners can be happy to be neutral to both and mostly ignored when they re trading around their precious space. i wouldn t expect them to sell the zoners any high tech equipment - other than weapons ( and that only cause the roleplay is rather softened up with equipment )

Ps.: oh, Jinxs? enslaved tradeship silvermist will probably switch to a luxory liner, cause this ship is mostly taking labour to corfu ( and its more convenient to travel in a luxory liner than in a cargo pod ) - lux liners are civilian and can be protected like gunboats. they might not have the same punch but still good enough to fend off most hostiles. so a luxory liner / prison ship ( if libery sells you one ) is an alternative, too - but those ships are anything bot agile of course.
