Most people have little imagination, which can be explained by lack of maturity and understanding in pluasible science fiction. That's why they think of roleplaying their wild dreams and stereotypical architypes.
The solution here is to encourage people to explore and experience interesting areas and factions they haven't before. With a little hope, they should form more roleplay than simple "2milordie", "dropcargoordie", "engaging" stereotypes.
