I remember when hessian miners came to the server for the first time. They used to mine in o7 and I became a nuisance. I remember them logging off gunboats and bombers near jump holes and f1ing when I'm at 12k so I get no notice of it.

I remember Malexa and other admins tailing me with cloak on so they can confirm my reports of people just being mean when it comes to mining. And I was so furious that people f1ed that I had this need to correct them all.

You know, when someone is plain breaking the rules and you decide to be his judge and jury and executor.
I remember being such a sneaky bastard that I logged off on top of the miners in o7, waited for them to log on and then logged on their head. They would still f1 but I'd get the ore.

I felt so good. You know how long did it last? For about 15 seconds before swarm of gunboats took me down.

But I kept on pushing. I decided to f1 in space whenever i blow up a miner. No one is around to know it, and they're too far with the gunboats to screenshot the f1. I felt so proud again.

It lasted about 5 minutes this time.


Don't take me the wrong way, the f1 from miners or any cheating isn't good, and shouldn't be done. But their cheating breeds them bad future, and in the end when it all comes down to skill their money will do them no good. And they cling so much to that "I WIN!" desire that they are ready to sacrifice their dignity and honor just to win those 15mil.

Do not do the same thing as they do. Do not "cling" over the things in freelancer, and try to do it less in real life as well. This peace comes out of it because if you cling you get in this recycling wheel that just keeps on sucking happiness and good will in and spitting misery out.


Small edit, smarter in the morning:

Basically when A is and B is
then A gets "born" and B gets "born"
When A isn't and B isn't
Then A disappears and B disappears

When there's taking a situation in rp personal (beyond your player in game) and you cling onto it (or chase it)
and this idea of something personal happening to you gets "born" and suddenly there's a chance of frustration.
When there's no idea of things being personal, then there is nothing to cling onto
and the idea of YOU (player) being involved in the game beyond roleplaying your character fades, and so does frustration.
