well you can take joy from playing without actually becoming too attached to the fact that you have to win. It is not about general interest of the game, you can still have that, you just have to thread lightly.

I did not say it's a simple thing to do, it requires a big dose of willpower and going against what you're used to. But one is used to doing good things and bad things thats why we have good and bad habits.

In this case I would say that actually playing the game itself is reality and that whatever happens is reality of the game. But when you take in your desires or wishes in it and project what would you WANT to happen, it becomes your projection not reality. And that is where you get lost and where you get mad.

Playing a game because it is fun without projecting or expecting anything can be quite liberating.

On the other hand you have playing the game with projecting. If I do this this and that I will earn for this and then I will do that and then I will be happy. That's not something that can happen for sure. And more you plan and more you want it, the bigger frustration will be once you either fail to have it, or get it and then lose it.
