You get 8 guns with bonus vs graviton shields. Killing "average Liberty pirate" gunboats with it ... works for me. Tested. Certainly nice as escort with a fighter to cover its rear. Pirate Transports hate Grizzlys more than gunboats do. Sure, Dromedary can kill a Shire given enough spacetime but this is a different league.

Did these gunboats not use bats? It'll take 18seconds for that Grizzly to down the shields the first time, and then he bats and is back to 105k, and you're out of energy shortly thereafter and only able to put out a bit less than 2k net dps to his shields.

Not to mention that magma hammers are so slow (and gunboat weapons so fast) that he'll have a much easier time hitting you than vice versa.

I stand by my statement that you were probably fighting bad gunboat pilots.
