I just read the first post and skipped a little bit over the rest.

If it has to be resized, give it a x1.5 at maximum. Giving it the same size as the Bretonian destroyer would turn it into the weakest ship on the server considering the other stats. (yes, a ship is made of more than just size.)

But if it was for me I'd rather scale down the Kagutsuchi than scale up the Kusari dessie.

Asides from that the ship is pretty easy to kill once you know how to take it. Casero already gave a hint, it has pretty weird hardpoints.

No vanilla ship has been enlarged or shrinked because they are other ways to balance them. Deviating from this will quickly lead to number of other related threads:

' Wrote:Being small is the problem. Remember when the new Cruiser weapons were unveiled for 4.86, and all the people screamed they were too good when on the Kusari Destroyer? Then they got changed so they were alright on the Kusari Dessie, but then they were too weak on the Heavier Cruisers. The Dessie created an imbalancing problem.

I don't remember any new Cruiser weapons being unveiled for 4.86... at all. Which is rather strange since it's me who holds the stamp of approval for those.

I explained in previous post how Kusari dessie is not limiting any cruiser guns. Various other cruisers determine the limit (BHG Dessie, OC dessie, Rheinland Cruiser, LIberty Cruiser (due to it's dodging with reverse)).

Yes, let's remove all charm it has as a ship.
Let's remodel it and get rid of the blade while we're at it, shall we?

Bleh.

It's the 'charm' that makes it so overpowered.

It's way too small, way to manuverable, it's a super gunboat that can't shoot at transports unless [KNF].

@ all the posts above me, I'm not repeating what I've already sent. You want the answers, go back and read where I've already answered them earlier in the thread.

I've yet to see a reason why the Kusari Destroyer needs to be the size of a Gunboat. Altering it's size will not effect it's 'charm' or it's 'uniqueness' and changing the scaling of a model is no different to altering hardpoints or balance of any other Vanilla Ships that have been altered.

So what exactly is the problem? Give me a valid reason why the Kusari Destroyer needs to remain the size of a Gunboat, and I'll find a mod to lock this thread.

All aspects of this mod should pass a basic test of plausibility.

Why does the technology that allows Kusari to manufacture a Destroyer this small not apply to their other ship classes?

I do enjoy watching the blatant self-interest on display in this thread. Ashes, and myself - are not arguing for a one-sided upsizing of the Hatchet.

Do whatever you have to do to feel superior with the Kusari Destroyer, but increase its size such that it appears credible next to other ships of its class!

Observe, understand, implement.

How is that a reason? Balance can, and will be altered if this model gets implimented.

FYI, the Rogue Scylla is more than twice the size of the Kusari Destroyer and only -one- of it's turrets shoots backwards.

Moot point.

Next?

Right, solution to all this then.

Change the size of the ship and make it just like any other heavy cruiser.
Oh joy, it's the same ship as the others with a new model.
How fancy.

Maybe we should size up the dreadnaught to be the size of a Rheinland battleship, then rebalance it so it's the exact same as it.
Yes. That'll make battles great fun when we are all fighting each other with the same ship but with different shells.

For god sake people.
Can you not just accept that it's a small cruiser that is currently balanced?
The arguments of it holding other destroyers back is arse, the man leading the balance team says so himself and I do too.
The arguments of it 'being too small' is arse again. What the hell is wrong with it being that small?
Have any of you considered that every once in a while some engineers hit upon a really good design for a ship, even if it's not at all the same as the rest of their line?
