some of the ids such as the LWB and afa ids allow them to attack on sight any ship carrying syth paste allied pilots and etc and i think the admins made the selling locations on some commendibles in houses where such pirates that can attack on sight ships that are carrying such items. im not completely sure on the selling location part.
Also for some items such as gate lane parts carrying them when not having agenia ID can have in-character consequences. So in order to transport some items they need a specific id such as that or they could get into trouble with lawful forces or the company that makes them. Also lane hackers can attack you on sight because of this so using a foriegn id cant protect you when you carry certain items.
Theres more examples then just this one this is the only one i can remember off hand
Ive had enough of disco for now. I might be back at the next mod release.
The Master of all things cyborg
Point1: You still aren't paying attention, the powertrader doesn't change ID's, he simply chooses an out of ZOI one that makes him more untouchable than a proper one for the area would.
Point2: The military is restricted by their ID, they can't kill you or even hassle you in most cases if you aren't carrying contraband and are not at war with them. You can "lolwut" them and they can do nothing except risk a sanction.
Point3: This looks like rambling, no point found.
Point4: More ranting
Point5: dealing with suspicion from rhiendland means nothing if you aren't carrying contraband.
You haven't answered the point that under these new rules the powertraders can still fly an advanced train with an out of their ZOI ID with no more risk or RP than they have now. Nothing has changed, it's wasted effort that forces a huge number of people to retag and reID for basically zero benefit to the server RP..
Quote:That's exactly what I said, Kuraine, so where is this "misapprehension" that I am laboring under.
What you didn't get is that because a corporate trader is not restricted by ZOI, these KOS assignments are meaningless. Basically if a BMM tagged trader has a good run that goes through a Molly ZOI (wherever that is) he will simply choose another ID.
Also, nothing stops the BMM trader from going to Rhiendland, and the RM can't do anything unless they are at war with BMM.
Nothing now even stops liberty traders from going to rhiendland.
Another point I will make, Akumabito, is that you likely have no idea how the new economy system actually works, unlike myself (since I worked on it with Xoria). You also do not know what new commodities there are (except perhaps the odd one or two like Blood Diamonds, which have been let slip by accident), or where they are sold. These IDs are also designed to fit into the new economic system, and there will be no way that any ID will be able to completely avoid encountering hostiles, short of there being no actual players in any systems you travel through (which can often be the case, but there is absolutely no way around that).
Also the faction i'm head of transports slaves should we get Slaver IDs?... but then the LN and BAF have said they might let us legally carry them, so then we could dock on their bases which is contradictary to the license.
At the moment we have zoner and prison liners but a bit iffy about the zoner part, although the only lawful base which buys slaves for any profit is Gran Canaria... a zoner base, therefore its a zoner initiative. Sticking with Zoner shouldn't be too much of an issue should it?
although a slave liner would be good if they're cheaper or have more cargo than the prison liners

Kuraine, if I believed you could plan that well then I would also believe there hasn't been any editing to the ID'd since you planned it out.
And at any rate, it doesn't matter, people will still powertrade, if it gets them there quicker in advanced trains with GMG ID's going from liberty to bretonia then that's what they'll do.
